Executive Summary
Mace Hartley Executive Director
As we head into the back half of 2021 and into 2022 we wanted to take the chance to hear from our suppliers about the new technological trends that are making real changes for our industry .
We know all too well the story of fleet managers having huge amounts of data but not knowing how or not the resources having to manage it to create safer , cheaper and more efficient fleets . Inside this issue we cover the solutions that can help drive those improvements within your organisation .
Also in our 30th Issue of FleetDrive we hear from Paul Oliver about the Death of Excel for Fleet Management , catch up with AfMA President Lee Sauerwald to understand how organisations can begin their journey to zero-emissions , hear what ’ s making fleet news Around The World and provide further details about the 2022 Australasian Fleet Conference & Exhibition .
On that note , excitement is building internally at AfMA about next year ’ s conference as we make the move to Sydney on May 3-4 at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse . As we plan for next year ’ s supersized event AfMA is pleased to announce our 2022 Suppliers Prospectus will be unveiled on Tuesday August 31 – so please take the opportunity to secure your place , as bookings are strictly first come , first served .
For our delegates we encourage you to consider thinking about planning your trip to Sydney next year . Which colleagues could you bring with you ? Have you been vaccinated against COVID or have booked in for your shots ? And have you considered nominating yourself or another individual / organisation who deserves recognition for our 2022 Fleet Awards ?
COVID will continue to affect our plans but planning ahead really is the best way to navigate this pandemic . Vehicle delays are continuing to hurt many of us with no abatement in sight for many OEM ’ s . This has forced many organisations to reconsider their choice of fit for purpose vehicles providing a great opportunity to embrace safer and greener vehicles .
Continue to reach out where you can and perhaps utilise any additional downtime as a chance to upskill your own knowledge or that of your staff . At AfMA we ’ re committed to improving the knowledge of members and guests to create improved outcomes . We will deliver several FREE webinars throughout September to December so keep an eye out .
To whet your appetite , we ’ re just finalising a 4-part series of webinars focused on personal development through Emotional Intelligence . These will be delivered by Lisa Panarello who delivered an amazing keynote at this year ’ s conference . If fact , one participant said they learnt more from her 30 minutes then they did at a two day course on Emotional Intelligence .
