I think we can all lower our carbon emissions across our organisations and even personally . There ’ s some real opportunity for everybody to reduce emissions and keep that global warming temperature limit no higher than 1.5 degrees , because every bit above that just makes life a whole lot harder for everybody .
What advice can you provide to AfMA members that are looking or wanting to improve their environmental commitment but are unsure how to start their journey ?
Research is always the best place to start , and that can take many different forms . Talking to other people who are probably ahead of the journey on you is a good start . We ’ ve just held a big event at our organisation this month to celebrate our journey and to launch our net zero by 2035 commitment - but it ’ s not just about what we ’ re doing . It ’ s trying to promote to others that we think this is a great thing to do . It makes environmental , financial and social sense to do these things and reduce your emissions .
There ’ s a whole lot of resources that are available , and we ’ re more than happy to talk to anybody who is interested in making a start . Everyone ’ s at different stages , but the more people that get on the bandwagon the faster we can limit carbon emissions and get the environment back into balance .
