“ The ACT Government passenger vehicles that have already been changed over to zero emissions vehicles have reduced our annual fuel consumption by around 160,000 litres , reducing CO2 emissions by over 400 tonnes each year .
For the ACT Government , educating the community about the benefits of zero emissions vehicle while also providing incentives to encourage uptake will remain a focus both now and into the future .
“ Our fleet transition will continue rapidly over the coming years , and we ’ re also assisting the community to transition to zero emission vehicles , with a range of financial incentives and charging infrastructure ,” he said .

Key Achievements :
• All newly leased ACT Government passenger fleet vehicles will be zero emissions vehicles ( ZEVs ) from 2020 – 21 .
• 20 hydrogen vehicles introduced , alongside Australia ’ s first public hydrogen refuelling station .
• A public commitment to roll out 50 EV fast chargers by June 2022 .
• Providers of Australia ’ s first electric fire truck , due for delivery in 2022 .
• Free vehicle registration for new ZEVs for two years to be introduced shortly .
• Goal for all ACT vehicle sales to be zero emission by 2030 .
• 33 % reduction in emissions from Government operations by 2025 .
• 142 Low Emission Vehicles in the fleet
