Connector ’ s Mobility Webinar Series –

“ Pitching For Innovation ”

WORDS BY PAUL OLIVER
Connector recently delivered another successful event in their series of “ M15 Mobility Webinars ”. This time Connector tackled the challenge of helping managers to advocate for innovation by running a role-play of a Board pitch for the introduction of Corporate Mobility as a Service ( CMaaS ) within a conservative organisation with a large fleet .
The concept was explained by Connector ’ s APAC Director , Shane Curran . “ We had feedback from several past attendees saying that while they could see the benefits of innovation in fleet , they struggled to get buy-in from senior management . We felt that the best way to work with this would be by illustration rather than simply lecturing .”
A Role-Play Format
For the webinar , Connector outlined a fictional company , Staid and Son , as being a reasonably conservative but very large organisation with over 1000 vehicles in their fleet . They used different speakers to role-play a variety of executive roles from within Staid an Son , with Mace Hartley , AfMA ’ s Executive Director role-playing the fleet manager and Connector ’ s global CEO , Yves Helven , role-playing the company CFO .
The webinar began with an introduction from the CEO , which was followed by an outline from the fleet manager and then a short presentation from the selected vendor , in this case , CMaaS . Then came explanations from a HR perspective and wrapped up with a financial analysis from the CEO .
The M15 Webinar Series
The M15 series of webinars is hosted by Connector every two to three months with a variety of topics and formats . Sydney based Partner , Paul Oliver explains that “ We take the view that most fleet managers have already done the work of looking at their providers and ensuring that they are not being overcharged . What they are really looking for is new ideas ,
