Sub-Saharan Africa How to get out of the soaring cost of living ?
With Africa bogged down by athletes ' breakaway exploits on the soccer pitch , where the fever of the king sport rages on during the African Cup of Nations , the high cost of living has awakened the passion of African citizens who , at the start of this year , are being hit hard by a surge in the price of basic commodities , including fuel and other foodstu s , which are becoming more expensive as purchasing prices rise . Once again , this year , the age-old question arises again and again : is Africa cursed ? Or what is it that makes Africa so unhappy ? Was Aimé Césaire right when he said that Africa has found misfortune in its path in its encounter with the West ?
If it ' s true that the Western capitalist system is based exclusively on the pauperization of others and the maximization of its own profit through the misery of others , it would at the very least be important to recognize that systemic misery in sub-Saharan Africa has agents - what can I say , tropical regents - who facilitate it , not always because they blindly want to serve the Western masters , but above all because in this island of Afro-pessimism of systemic destitution , they find their bounty .
