In 2015 you released your first quintet album " Petites Voix " and then you decided to set up a project " alone on stage ". Was it a way of reaching a new level , by going solo on stage ? and this first opus how did you experience it ? e feeling of accomplishment or the beginning of the adventure ?
Cynthia Abraham : A lot has happened between my two albums . Yes , to take a new step ; in any case I follow my instinct often , I do not plan in advance . I wanted to do this alone on stage because it has always been a passion to be in this search for the woman orchestra . How to be a singer and to be able to build the pieces on my own has always been a passion . It ' s a great introspection that helps you progress and get to know yourself better . Yes of course the feeling of duty accomplished , but , no project is ever an end in itself , we create something that has a life and that sometimes even escapes us , and that is what is beautiful .
You come from a family of musicians because apart from your career you collaborate with your brothers and sisters in the project Abraham Réunion with which you released an album in 2020 . In addition , you are soprano of the music group SELKIES which released its first EP " La koulèr la paix " in 2017 and the first album " Incantation " in 2020 . How does Cynthia manage to juggle all these caps in addition of course to her own solo career ?
Cynthia Abraham : well , I admit that it takes a lot of energy , to be in several projects , a lot of passion , a lot of time , a lot of work I admit . But at the same time , it ' s my passion so it ' s natural . Well , at the same despite all we should not be locked into work , fortunately I have my relatives who from time to time extricate me from my busy schedule … I ‘ m no more part of the group Selkies for a month now , but we remain very proud of the album we made .
Do you keep everything separate or is there a permeability , that is to say , an intercommunication between these di erent musical activities ?

Cynthia Abraham : No , it ' s pretty separate in my head , otherwise it would be the Bazaar . It ' s pretty parallel ... there are times when I ' m focused on one thing at a time . You have collaborated with big names of the Afro- Caribbean music such as Mario Canonge or French pop such as Matt Pokora , or even gospel or negro spiritual such as Emmanuel Djob . If you had to synthesize what these collaborations have brought to your way of seeing music , what would it be ?
Cynthia Abraham : It ' s true that I ' ve collaborated with a lot of artists all the big names in Afro- Caribbean music , it ' s true that it fed me . The way I live my crossbreeding , my mother is French metropolitan and my father from Guadeloupe . It helped me make the link between my French culture and my Guadeloupean culture . I felt legitimized to dig into my Guadeloupe heritage , the major French tours with artists such Matt Pokora gave me a lot of stage experience . In 2017 we did almost 100 dates . In gospel it ’ s , another way of seeing music , spirituality , 100 singers who vibrate together is quite an experience . It gave me a new vocal technique .
We can ' t talk about artistic creation these days , without talking about the impact of the pandemic on the lives of artists . How did you experience the quarantine period ? And will this di cult episode have changed anything in your vision of the world , especially when it comes to the freedom of each other , and solidarity between people ?
Cynthia Abraham : very bad at first . In March 2020 we had just released the album Abraham Réunion my brother and sister so it was extremely di cult ... I had a lot of grief because we were downright broken in mid-flight . After I left with my partner to isolate myself at the Mountain . It was extremely refreshing . I did something other than music . During the second lockdown I also took a lot of time working on my association making fundraising requests and the like . In the end I put the time to good use and I ' m pretty proud of myself in the end . It has changed my view of things , it is still changing it , we are in perpetual motion because it takes time to cope with . The album Unisson is a unique sound , emitted by several instruments or several voices .
