variety of topics such as:

A
IIAS hosted the “Weight
Management and Health
Improvement Program,” a
four-day series from November
14-17 led by a team of health
experts from Pacific Health
Education Center located in the
United States. The main goal
of the program was to provide
educational resources that
will help communities become
more aware of simple lifestyle
changes that can benefit their
overall health and prevent
disease. This was demonstrated
through a wide variety of
presentations covering
various topics and with skillful
demonstrations.
The highly qualified team
consisted of Steve Horton, MPH,

nutrition
• How to alter bad behaviors
• Immune system secrets
• Brain cellular memory and
the connection to body weight

Health graduate of AIIAS.

proper weight management
• Why women live longer
than men and understanding
estrogen versus testosterone
• Cooking demonstrations that
followed each mid-day session.
The Sabbath program
included Dr. James Park who
spoke about “Health and
Spirituality” and Dr. Fred
Hardinge who gave updates
on the Adventist Health Study
along with scientific research
that supports the Seventh-day
Adventist philosophy of health.
The afternoon session featured a
panel discussion where panelists
answered various questions
with the latest medical research.
Part of the discussion centered
on the importance of breakfast,
genetically modified organism
(GMO), and how additives and
condiments are used today. O
