e are becoming obsessed
with tracking fitness! There
are so many devices made for
tracking how many calories
you burn, how far you walk,
how many steps you’ve taken and so on…
Some retailers caught on to this trend early
when the boutique workouts that monitor
your progress came to fruition. OrangeTheory
Fitness, Cyclebar and SoulCycle are the top
brands that have integrated monitoring
software into their workouts. The ability to
see your exercise pay off immediately and
compete with other members has created a
drive that only few can resist. We want to be

able to quantify our results when we don’t
necessarily see results in the mirror. This
creates the demand for these fitness tracking
concepts.
“Activity trackers are going to be used by
more than 1 in 5 Americans by 2021, says a
new study from Juniper Research. A gradual
transition from fitness to health will prompt
over 75 million Americans to strap on an
activity tracker over the next five years, over
double the current number. The same study
suggests that this will become a market that
will generate $20 billion in annual sales by
