Pensacola seems to have a surplus of young people, which definitely isn’ t a bad thing. With two colleges, and a navy base there are more than enough 20 something’ s to make it a fun city. The fashion however … lets just say it could be better, especially when it comes to the guys. How many times have you gone out and just left the house in the graphic tee you wore to class, and those cargo shorts you’ ve had since senior year? Now, I know a lot of guys still think they look good wearing that out in their 20’ s, but trust me, you don’ t. Coming from a guy who has a lot of girls that are just friends, they don’ t like it, and as soon as they see you wearing that they’ ve already crossed you off their list. I know a lot of people decide halfway through the day that they want to go out that night or you get invited while you’ re in class or at work. So I’ m going to focus on how you can transition from what you wore to work / school to a nice going out outfit girls will actually like. It won’ t take that much time, but will require a little effort.
For the guys coming fromwork: If you already dress well for work or are required to dress nice that makes this one pretty easy. Chino pants are great for work. They look professional, are affordable, and are insanely comfortable. They are also perfect for going out for the same reasons. Chino pants give you a clean, fresh look and can be paired with a solid or print button down, un-tucked, for that“ yeah, I’ m professional, and successful, but ready to let loose” look. So depending on what you wear to work this may be as simple as un-tucking your shirt and heading out, or running home to change out of the uniform polo, you’ re required to wear, for a cool button down.
For the guys coming from school: personally, I like dressing well wherever I go. I have days where I really couldn’ t care less, but most of the time I want it to be apparent I know how to dress myself. Having good fashion sense isn’ t something to hide, although you don’ t have to flaunt it. By simply being stylish and wearing trends you know work for you puts you well above a lot of people on the fashion scale.
Guys tend to have this idea that fashion is for girls, but girls like boys that know fashion, just ask
Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Ryan Gosling … they have hot girlfriends. Back to the matter at hand though, if you dress nice for school this one makes for an easy transition too. Jeans are a staple. Find a brand that fits you, and buy them in all the colors you can. They don’ t have to be skinny jeans, but they shouldn’ t be baggy. They should hug your legs comfortably, and not look like“ diaper butt” in the back. Paired with a simple graphic tee, and cardigan or sweater makes for a nice casual daywear that also lets people know you have style. If you’ re planning on going out after a day like this, simply throw on a leather jacket, with your graphic tee to dress it up or change out your tee for a button up shirt, and keep your cardigan for a chill, hanging-at-the-bar night.
