Students begin making small gains right away. From the very first class they are shown new ways to approach learning and thinking, and they are taught study skills that they can start implementing right away in school, in every class. “We start building school confidence with every incremental gain, whether it’s completing a page, or mastering a skill. What the student gets to take away isn’t just better grades—better grades are a by-product—it’s the feeling and the knowledge that they are capable of approaching learning in a way that will help them become better students,” Dr. Whitehead said. Oxford Learning offers four main programs for students from the age of three, right through to college and university. Each program is customized to the student’s unique learning needs, so each student gets exactly the right kind of support. For developing strong reading skills before grade one, Oxford Learning’s Little Readers program for children aged 3-6 is a half-day program that helps children develop strong foundations in reading, writing, and math while emphasizing school readiness skills. Little Readers is offered weekday mornings, afternoons, or evenings, and Saturday mornings. Beyond Tutoring for students in grades 1-8 helps students improve their academic comprehension and develop strong thinking, learning, and study skills that they can rely on in ev ery school subject for years to come. For high school students, the Advantage High School Success program fine-tunes organizational and study skills to help teens manage time, stay on top of homework, and get the grades that they need for higher education. For students looking to write U.S.-college entrance exams, GPA 5.0 SAT and ACT has three different program options to help students get the high scores necessary to get accepted into American colleges. Oxford Learning also offers a specialized curriculum of French programs for all levels of French language proficiency from introductory to FFL. n VOLUME 1 - ISSUE 2 | yourBusiness Online 39
