ESL 4 class
I’ m taking a year off from full time work to help out with the community and volunteer at various charity organisations. I was a refugee myself so I would like to work with other refugees.

Volunteer Program
It has been yet another vibrant year in the Fitzroy Learning Network volunteer program, which has continued to grow and develop. We currently have close to 250 volunteers contributing their time and energy across the various volunteer programs. Each volunteer brings with them unique and invaluable skills according to their own life / study / work experience, and with continued support and kindness, the volunteers of the Fitzroy Learning Network enable us to reach out to the community to the extent that we do. It is always heartening to see the generosity and mutual respect between the students and volunteers, values on which the Fitzroy Learning Network is based.
We have had around 15 to 30 volunteers join the Network in each of the four volunteer intakes throughout the year. Foundation House have supported the training and orientation process again for us this year, providing invaluable insight for our volunteers on the refugee experience and the best ways in which the community can assist the resettlement process.
