Living Histories Project
This year, FLN partnered with the Bowen Street Press to co-produce a high-quality publication from our Living Histories project. The pro-
ject, which began in 2016, has several aims that the publication will assist in realising, by both documenting stories and curating a collec-
tion that will be available to the community in hard copy, as well as on FLN’s website. The aims of the Living Histories project are to:
document FLN’s impact on our community, program participants, students, staff and volunteers;
promote FLN to the broader community by sharing people’s stories;
improve the quality of services provided by FLN.
Community Needs Assessment
At the end of last year, FLN conducted an internal needs assessment aiming to understand the needs of our students and
community members; to understand the challenges impacting on resettlement in Australia and; to improve the delivery of the refugee
support program by making informed decisions.
This year and as part of a re-evaluation, we analysed, summarized and reported back the findings to the students and community mem-
bers. 60 people attended these feedback sessions and identified the following primary needs:
