Memantine is a non-acetyl cholinesterase inhibitor drug that aids in treatment of Alzheimer's
disease. The drug received European marketing approval in 2002 and the U.S. Food and Drug

since 2015. Memantine aids in treatment of moderate to severe dementia associated with
