ScubaFit® Instructor Spotlight

Hopefully, throughout one's life, we can name a person or persons that had the most influence on a chosen direction. My uncle Howard Herbert is my one person when it comes to my love for the ocean and involvement in scuba. He had a 37-foot boat docked at the South Jersey shore and I spent many summers as I grew up listening to his shore/boating stories and walking the beach.

One summer he became a certified scuba diver and I thought some day I will do this too! It was while I was an undergraduate student at Pennsylvania State University that I received my Open Water certification in the chilly Altoona quarry. When I relocated to my current address I finally could seek out the local dive shop and became a more active diver. Indian Valley Scuba guided my continuing education to become a more proficient diver as well as enjoying trips to warmer waters! One thing led to another, an IDC in St. Croix, and now I have been an instructor teaching PADI and DAN courses for the facility since 2007.
