Welcome Home!
Kohola (Humpback Whales) return to Maui each year because the warm shallow waters are an ideal
place to mate, give birth and nurse newborn
calves. Behaviors like breaching, pec and
tail slapping, and spy hopping are often
seen from dive boats. Underwater
divers can hear male Humpbacks
singing, and if close enough,
feel the musical vibrations.
