In 1972, Magnavox had an idea that changed the style of video games to the known and used until today. In private demonstrations, the company showed off its new video game machine, the Odyssey, which was not simply an arcade that could be placed at traffic points and played as usual. He was a "Game Console", a machine that held neither one nor two, but dozens of games. The user could access all games on the console and if he wanted any more that had already been released, he just needed to update the console. And the biggest change from it was that it could be played at home without the need to go to specific places to play. About the same size as a shoebox fact that allowed it to be positioned almost anywhere in the room and, along with its joystick and sound and video cables, could be plugged into a regular TV and played without need to translocate.

After the surprise that it was the success of the Arcades that later brought other classic games like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Asteroids. Donkey Kong, etc. which were certainly part of the childhood and adolescence of many people, start-ups, and other electronics companies saw this style of entertainment as a very lucrative business. From there literally came the gaming industry. Examples of companies entering this market include: Magnavox, Nintendo, SNK, Namco and Sega.

As a result, the gaming industry has undergone major changes because of the new market for people who prefer to enjoy video games in the comfort of home, starting with Atari itself by launching its 2600 console, initially sold as Atari Video Computer System.

Following the flow of the industry, all the companies mentioned above were launching their consoles that, through competition, evolved over time along with the invented technologies. Everyone must have some of these consoles stored deep in their hearts, but they probably don't know what had to happen for them to launch. So through this magazine we will bring all the generations of consoles to the current, with its advances in technology and its main legacies as games and events of the time. Keep reading and have fun!
