It’s beginning to look a lot like fishing season. I’ve
spent the entire winter watching tips and technique
videos over on Fishhound.com and I’ve got an entire
arsenal of new lures and baits from Lucky Tackle Box.
I’m so freaking ready for it. This season is going to be
the best ever! I just know it. Right?
Then I’m reminded that it’s called fishing and not
catching. I’m out perfecting my craft every other
weekend but the reality is that’s probably only good
enough for the middle of the pack at the local fishing
tournament. I just gotta do better than that. I mean I
can’t take another summer listening to the boys brag
about their catches anymore. The endless nights that
we pony up to the bar, order adult beverages and
exaggerate about the fish we’ve caught. Wait. I’m
the only one exaggerating! I haven’t caught any fish.
What do I do?
I wake up in a panic to realize I was only dreaming.
The catching wasn’t real but the fishing was. That’s
all that matters. A simple escape from our daily
routine that helps us forget about the grind. The fun
times with our friends...now that’s no dream. That’s
as real as it gets boys and girls and that’s why I love
fishing and the United States of America.
I’m going back to sleep now.
god bless and goodnight.
Cheers.
