HOT BITES...
1.
CAMANCHE ‘BOWS… Jumbo rainbow trout to 6
lbs. are being caught off the bank and from boats.
Bankies soak PowerBait, while trollers run Speedy
Shiners and Rapalas.
2.
MONTEREY PERCH… Surfperch are on a
strong bite on central coast beaches. Gulp! baits,
pile worms and grass shrimp are doing the damage.
3.
PYRAMID TROUT… Shore anglers are
catching as many as 20 cutthroat trout per day
with top fish going up to 19 lbs. Woolly Buggers and
marabou jigs work well.
4.
BERRYESSA BASS… Big numbers of 12 to 16
inch spotted bass are on the chomp. To hook
up work schools of bait with jigging spoons and drop
shot rigs.

SAC RIVER STEELIES… Steelhead are
scattered from Woodson Bridge to Redding.
Conventional gear anglers rely on roe and plugs.

TRUCKEE RIVER BROWNS… Brown trout
are biting in the Truckee. Fly anglers are working
streamers, while spin anglers use eggs, spinners and
minnow plugs.

SOUTH BAY STURGEON… Keeper sturgeon
have been caught by anglers working the
channel edges. Mud shrimp, ghost shrimp and herring
fillets are the best baits.

SHASTA TROUT … Trollers are hooking big
browns and rainbows. Large spoons and trolling
flies are drawing the strikes.

DON PEDRO ‘BOWS… Crowds are light and
the rainbows are on the bite. Trollers are scoring
with both Speedy Shiners and rigged shad..

CLEAR LAKE BASS…Minnow drifters are
hooking good numbers of bass to 6 lbs.
The best fishing is taking place deep, but docks are
holding some bass too.

SAN PABLO STURGEON… Sturgeon are
cruising the mudflats. Top baits for scoring a
keeper are mud shrimp, ghost shrimp, pile worms
and eel.
