Trout fishing is shifting into high gear
in Northern California’s foothill lakes,
due to a combination of cooling water
temperatures and rainbow trout plants.
One of the most productive lakes north
of Sacramento is Collins Lake, where
boaters and shore anglers are nail-
ing good numbers of hefty rainbows.
Moises Blanco of San Jose won second
place in the kid’s division of the NorCal
Trout Anglers Challenge Tournament of
Champions at Collins Lake on Novem-
ber 3-4 with this 4.97 lb. rainbow while
fishing PowerBait with his dad, Jose.
