“When I am
fishing a frog or
flipping matted
vegetation, I
am throwing the
new X-TCB 8
Carrier Braided
Line form P-Line.
It is critical to
be stealthy with
both techniques,
and with P-line’s
new braid, you
can make longer
casts and it is
ultra quiet com-
ing through the
grass.”

HOT BITES...
1.
SACRAMENTO RIVER SALMON… Salmon
from 15 to 40 lbs are hitting between Woodson
Bridge and Anderson. Both roe and plugs are
working.
2.
GOLDEN GATE LINGS… Lingcod fishing along
the Marin County coast is producing lings to 21
lbs. Large rigged natural baits presented on a trap rig
are the way to go.
3.
FEATHER RIVER KINGS… Guides and private
boaters are having good success on kings up to
35 lbs. Flatfish and Kwikfish work early, roe works as
the day goes on.
4.
EAGLE LAKE ‘BOWS… Trollers are hooking
trout to 3 lbs while working the north end of the
south basin. Sep’s Grubs, flies and rigged worms do
the damage.
GOOD BETS…
5.
MONTEREY ROCKFISH… Rockfish and
lingcod action has been good to very good.
Shrimp flies, butterfly jigs and soft plastics swimbaits
are all working.
IT ALL ADDS UP
6.
SUISUN BAY STURGEON… Sturgeon are
holding and feeding in deep water areas. Fresh
salmon roe is the top bait, but it’s good to have shrimp
and eel on hand too.
TO MORE FISH IN THE BOAT.
7.
BERRYESSSA BASS… Spots and smallmouths
are on the warpath. Spoons are hooking up to 20
bass per day ranging up to 4 lbs.
8.
ROGUE RIVER SALMON… Kings are being
caught at the mouth and are pushing up river.
Roe is the best bait, but some fish are being taken on
spinners and plugs.
SLEEPERS…
9.
DELTA STRIPERS… Bait enthusiasts and
trollers are hooking solid numbers of bass to 15
lbs. Worm-tipped minnow plugs work for trollers, while
shad are the top natural bait.
10.
COLLINS LAKE ‘BOWS… Trout fishing is
underway with fish to 4 lbs showing in the
catches. Bank anglers are tossing PowerBait while
trollers pull Kastmasters.
11.
HALF MOON BAY ROCKFISH… Limits
are the rule for central coast anglers chasing
rockfish. Shrimp flies tipped with Gulp! soft baits are
hooking both rockfish and lingcod.
