POINTER
“When I am
fishing a frog or
flipping matted
vegetation, I
am throwing the
new X-TCB 8
Carrier Braided
Line form P-Line.
It is critical to
be stealthy with
both techniques,
and with P-line’s
new braid, you
can make longer
casts and it is
ultra quiet com-
ing through the
grass.”

HOT BITES...
1.
SACRAMENTO RIVER KINGS… Fresh kings
are pushing up the Sacramento River. Salmon
to 33 lbs. have shown recently for anglers working
Flatfish early in the day from the Barge Hole to below
Red Bluff.
2.
S.F. BAY Halibut… The halibut bite has bounced
back big time for limits of fish to 25 lbs. Anglers
are hooking up while drifting live anchovies and small
live smelt.
3.
HELL HOLE KOKANEE… Limits of kokanee
in the 12 to 14 inch class are coming out of Hell
Hole. Pink lures trolled 25 to 45 feet deep do the
damage.
4.
BULLARDS SPOTTED BASS… Topwater
action is on tap for anglers working Spooks and
poppers early and late. The spotted bass average 2
lbs. each.
GOOD BETS...
5.
DAVIS LAKE TROUT… Anglers are landing
quality rainbows to 22 inches.. To hook up,
trollers are pulling Berkley Power Grubs and Dick
Nite Spoons.
IT ALL ADDS UP
6.
HALF MOON KINGS… Limits are the rule for
salmon anglers departing from Pillar Point.
Rigged anchovies either trolled or mooched are
getting the job done.
TO MORE FISH IN THE BOAT.
7.
ROGUE SALMON… The first chinooks of fall
are starting to show in the Rogue. Boaters are
doing the best near the mouth with roe and plugs
but bankers are hooking some fish too.
8.
DON PEDRO TROLLING… Fat ‘kokes that
range up to 16 inches and rainbows to 20
inches are being caught. Uncle Larry’s Spinners
teamed with dodgers tempt the sockeyes, while
Speedy Shiners fool rainbows.
SLEEPERS...
9.
BODEGA ROCKFISH… The hardheads
are feeding heavily. Shrimp flies are the top
producer, but metal jigs and soft plastic swimbaits
are working too.
10.
COLLINS CATFISH… Whiskerfish as large
as 12 lbs. have been landed by bait soakers.
Liver, night crawlers and mackerel fillets are the baits
of choice.
11.
TAHOE COMBOS… Both mackinaw and
kokanee are on the chomp. Minnows teamed
with dodgers have been working for the macks while
Wedding Rings and dodgers fool sockeyes.

12.
FOLSOM TROUT… Trollers are scoring
rainbows that run 12 to 18 inches. The fish
are scattered from 40 to 60 feet deep and are hitting
spoons pulled at 3 mph.
COMING SOON...
13.
SANTA CRUZ TUNA… There is plenty of
bait offshore. If the tuna are going to show,
it should be within the next 4 to 5 weeks.
14.
DELTA STRIPERS… The fall striper
run should get going the last week of
September. Trollers will want to pull Yo-Zuris, while
bait guys will score with shad and bullheads.
P-LINE TACTICAL FLUOROCARBON
Show up prepared for the battle: smoother,
more sensitive, improved knot strength,
stronger, and unmatched abrasion resistance.
15.
SMITH RIVER KINGS… September
should be trophy time for Smith River
kings. Both roe and sardine wrapped plugs will
draw strikes from fish up and beyond 30 lbs.
P-LINE X-BRAID
Delivers superior abrasion resistance,
longer casts, vibration reduction and a near
zero stretch factor for unparalleled power.
16.
KLAMATH STEELHEAD… September
should be a good month for steelhead.
Conventional anglers will score with both roe and
back trolled plug.
