HOT BITES...

ALMANOR TROUT… Trollers are hooking trout
that range up to 6 lbs. Some trollers are speed
trolling spoons, while others pull flies and threaded
worms.
2.
MARIN COAST KINGS… Lights out salmon
trolling is on tap. For limits of fish to 22 pounds
pull rigged baits with or without flashers.
3.
SHASTA TROUT… Trollers are scoring
rainbows that run 12 to 20 inches. The fish
scattered from 40 to 60 feet deep are are hitting
spoons pulled at 3 mph.

NEW MELONES KOKES… Anglers are
hooking up to 70 kokanee per day. Uncle Larry’s
Spinners are the ticket for hooking salmon that
average 15 to 17 inches.
GOOD BETS…

DELTA LARGEMOUTHS… Largemouth bass
are hitting a variety of crankbaits and topwater
lures. Most of the bass run lbs, but fish to 9 lbs have
been reported.

S.F. BAY POTLUCK… Live anchovies are
drawing strikes from both halibut and striped
bass. The halibut range up to 33 lbs, while stripers to
15 have been reported.

UMPQUA SMALLIES … Anglers are hooking
40 to 60 bass per day that weigh up to 2 lbs.
Topwater lures work early and late, while crankbaits
work when the sun is high.

CAMANCHE CATFISH… Whiskerfish as large
as 12 lbs have been landed by bait soakers.
Liver, night crawlers and mackerel fillets are the baits
of choice.
SLEEPERS…

HALF MOON ROCKFISH… Limits are the rule
for rockfish anglers departing from Pillar Point.
Swimbaits are producing some fish, but shrimp flies
do the heavy lifting.

HAT CREEK BROOKIES… Hat Creek
has been heavily stocked with brookies
and rainbows. Red salmon eggs, crickets and gold
Kastermaster all draw strikes.

STAMPEDE KOKANEE… Limit style
kokanee trolling is on tap at this high mountain
reservoir. Uncle Larry’s Spinners teamed with dodgers
produce salmon to 15 inches.

fishing will start on July 16. With strong
numbers of salmon in the ocean, the opener promises

AMADOR NIGHT BASS… By early July
nighttime fishing for largemouth bass will be
going strong at Amador. Spinnerbaits, buzzbaits and
large plastic worms are the best offerings typically.
