Ice Fishing Derby Yields Rainbows , Browns

PORTOLA – “ The Maybe Ice Fishing Derby ” held at Lake Davis on Feb . 8 turned out to be “ A Definitely Ice Fishing Derby ” as anglers caught plenty of trout through the ice . “ We had a great turn out and lots of fun ,” said Jeanne Graham at the J & J ’ s Grizzly Store and Camping Resort “ We saw some really nice fish , mostly rainbows , but a few browns also .” First Place in the event went to Paul Stoner with a 20 ” 2 lb . 13.1 oz . rainbow . The second through fifth place winners were ( 2 ) Zeb Wilcox , 20.25 ” 2 lb . 9.7 oz ; ( 3 ) Gabriel Davis , 18.25 ” 2 lb . 2.2 oz ; ( 4 ) John Fritz , 19.5 ” 2 lb . 5.1 oz ; and ( 5 ) Dave
