This group of anglers put in some nice work and had a solid day of halibut fishing on the SF Bay while fishing with the Lovely Martha .

Live Bait Drifters Bag Bay Halibut
BERKELEY – Halibut fishing is excellent for anglers drifting live bait or trolling with dead herring and anchovies in San Francisco , while salmon fishing is great outside of the Golden Gate when the weather allows the boats to fish . The Happy Hooker reported full limits of halibut for 15 anglers , plus 4 crew fish on their latest venture on the bay on May 6 . The total count was 49 halibut and 1 striped bass , according to Captain Jonathan Smith . On the previous trip by the Happy Hooker . 14 anglers landed 35 halibut and 2 striped bass . “ We finished up around a fish per rod today on the halibut ,” reported Captain James Smith of California Dawn Sportfishing on May 7 . “ The

PROMARAHI . COM majority of the fish were 12 pounds and up . We also scored a couple in the high teens and low 20s including the best of the season for us , a 31 pounder . All fish were taken on live shiner perch drifting .” The final dock count was 21 halibut to 31 pounds and 2 striped bass . Mike Rescino , Captain of the Lovely Martha also reported good halibut fishing . “ Today was another solid day on the bay ,” said Rescino . “ We even got a visit at the end of the day from some friendly game wardens . We finished up with 22 quality halibut for our group of anglers !. On May 6 , the 15 anglers aboard the Lovey landed with 26 halibut and 3 leopard shark . Captain Joey Gallia Jr . reported “ Incredible ” salmon on the Easy Rider on May 7 . The 14 anglers caught limits of kings up to 22 pounds while trolling anchovies outside of the Golden Gate .

Sonoma Coast Trips Yield Rockfish Limits
BODEGA BAY - While salmon fishing has been slow , the rockfish action remains very good off the Sonoma County Coast . “ We got them again today in Beautiful Bodega Bay ,” reported Captain Merlin Kolb of Reel Magic Sportfishing & Charters after his most recent trip on May 6 . “ Today was the Gauge Mueller show . He was joined by his father Greg and Grandfather Loyd Baumann and fellow fisherman , Brian Butler ,

We ran all over wide open and comfortable all day long . In the early morning we targeted kings offshore in 35 fathoms for only 1 drive by . Not even 1 hook up ,” he stated . “ At about 10:30 the group opted to switch over and get ahold of some white rockfish meat and that is exactly what we did ,” he stated . “ After a short ride up above the river we found consistent and steady action and we ended up with 80 quality rockfish . Nice vermillion , copper , browns and blues were what bit and filled our sacks .”
