Mini Flukes , said Bentley . Craig Barrick caught 4 steelhead on nymphs while fly fishing and 2 on spoons . Cole Gendreau hooked and released a 7-pound hen on a nymph while fly fishing . The Feather River Fish Hatchery has trapped a total of 867 adult steelhead including 457 males and 410 females to date . “ We took in 28 males and 25 females during our last spawning session ,” said Penny Crawshaw at the hatchery . King Salmon Make Showing

FOLSOM – After a couple of months of absence , landlocked Chinook salmon are starting to show at Folsom Lake with the arrival of the New Year . “ King Salmon are finally being caught at Folsom again ,” reported Craig Newton of Willfish Bait and Tackle . “ Boaters are hooking the kings while trolling with hoochies behind dodgers . The larger fish go about 3 pounds .” Most fishermen are targeting the North Fork at 25 feet deep . Although kings are hitting , Newton hasn ’ t heard of any rainbows caught lately , although fishing for them should be perking up soon .
