fishing off the Monterey County Coast on Saturday , July 3 . The anglers used shrimp flies , bars and jigs for the bottomfish . The previous two bottomfish trips yielded 180 rockfish for 18 anglers and 170 rockfish for 17 anglers , reported Carol Jones at Kahuna Sportfishing in Moss Landing . The charter boats out of Chris ’ Fishing Trips in Monterey also reported limits of rockfish action off the Monterey County Coast on the weekend on July 3-4 . On July

3 , the 28 anglers aboard the Star of Monterey reported in with limits of rockfish ( 280 ) and 4 lingcod ; the 22 anglers on the Checkmate caught limits of rockfish ( 220 ) and 4 lingcod ; and the 21 anglers aboard the Caroline bagged limits of rockfish ( 210 ).
