Trollers Reel In Chinook Limits
SAN FRANCISCO – Although live bait drifting for halibut and stripers is still very good , the Lovely Martha , Bass Tub and other boats have switched over to salmon trolling , now that the season is open in the San Francisco Management Area . The Marin County Coast has kicked out limits for salmon enthusiasts on most days since opening day on June 26 . “ Today we tried a new spot off Pacifica and finished up with 19 limits ( 38 ) of salmon to 28 pounds ,” reported Mike Rescino , Captain of the Lovely Martha on July 2 . “ However , most of the season we have been trolling the Marin County
Coast off Rocky Point and Duxbury Reef in 45 to 90 feet of water .” The Lovely Martha also returned with 20 limits ( 40 ) of salmon and one halibut by 1:30 pm on July 1 and with 19 limits ( 38 ) of salmon to 20 pounds on June 30 . Aaron Anfinson , Captain of the Bass Tub , reported that Saturday , July 3 started out with a very slow morning , but they found a “ pretty good shot of fish in the afternoon .” They ended the day with 29 salmon for 17 anglers . On their previous trip , the boat came in with limits of quality king salmon .

EL GRANADA – Now that salmon fishing is open in the San Francisco Management Zone from Point Arena to Pigeon Point , trollers are bagging limits of big salmon on many days . The Queen of Hearts reported “ another great day of salmon fishing on Friday , July 2 . Our group of 12 got their full limit plus three for the crew , a total of 27 king salmon to 16 lbs . .” Rockfish action is also going strong . The Queen of Hearts on July 1 returned to the harbor with 128 rockfish , 2 cabezon and 8 lingcod to 12 pounds for 13 passengers . On June 30 , the 15 anglers aboard the Queen of Hearts landed 24 king
