Fish, Hunt & Ride – Spring 2016 | Page 13

Sunrize Safaris , and nonstop rock ’ n ’ roll mayhem are fulltime master asskickers !
FHR Ted , like you , I ’ ve made it my mission over the years to put an end to animal rights and antihunting propaganda bullshit in North America . As wise game managers who live and breathe conservation , what would you say is our best approach in dealing with those who threaten our hunting heritage ?
Ted As you can witness with the tens of millions of people around the world on my facebook page , website and twitter accounts , I have pounded this new social media phenomenon with the irrefutable wildlife facts and science the exact same way I have pounded the media and all my available resources my entire adult life . We must admit that far worse than the lies and mindless whining of the animal rights freaks , the apathy in our own sporting community is downright embarrassing .
We can ’ t fix stupid , but I can show you tens of thousands of people who have seen the light because of my relentless hammering home the sustain-yield , habitat-carrying science and logic that is the hunting lifestyle . I am convinced that every licensed hunter , fisher and trapper has a moral obligation in this bizarre culture war to educate everyone everywhere we go to the essentiality of the annual natural harvest of surplus game to maintain a healthy , balanced wildlife . Never , ever , back down or give up .
FHR Please sum up what being the WhackMaster means to Ted Nugent ?
Ted The term itself was a cute joke many years ago because I got skunked and came home gameless so often ! But as I honed my stealth and shooting skills I started killing more game and someone somewhere began calling me the WhackMaster . Each kill is considered a gift from The Great Spirit so nicknames are just a fun way of further celebrating this incredible hunting lifestyle , kill or no kill .
FHR This final question stems from my own personal curiosity and can certainly remain off-therecord , if you wish . Back in your early music career when drugs and alcohol were almost ubiquitous , and you had other rock stars offering you a shot , or a hit , what was it that made you say NO ?
Ted I guess I ' m just smarter and better disciplined than the weak druggies and drunks out there . As a hunter , especially a bowhunter , I knew damn well that I couldn ' t possibly compromise my health or level of awareness if I truly wanted to be a successful hunter and get close to ultra-spooky whitetail deer and other game . I was raised to be the best that I can be , thank God , and that upbringing fortified me to turn down stupid , illegal , dumb stuff . Peer pressure is for soulless sheep , no thank you
FHR Ted , thanks so very much for your time and for your terrific and very candid responses . I wish you the best during the hunting season and I am so very pleased to have you as a part of Fish Hunt & Ride magazine !
Ted The best of luck to you and yours Jeff ! Thank God everyday we are deerhunters ! YOWZA ! Aim small miss small , go ultra stealthy ! kill the beast ! cherish this special family spirit time !
