Our school named I. C. "F.P.Polizzano" (a local poet’s name) is situated in Gangi, one of the most beautiful
villages in Italy. It is a complex school made up of three levels: pre-primary, primary and lower-secondary with
555 students aged from 3 to 14 and 70 teachers. It is “a school for everybody, projected into the future, open and
resolute, strong in its history”.
It aims at:
• Fost competences to give meaning to the variety of experiences
• Give value to diversity to avoid differences change into inequalities
• Give value to the cultural identity of the territory and interact with the world
• Provide instruments to interact with different culture as well as understand and compare them with their own
• Promote self-assessment as preliminary phase to improvement.
