A PLANET, RICH IN LIGHTNING
Scientists observed that lightning happens in planets
Venus and Jupiter of our solar system. Now for the
first time lightning is discovered in a planet outside
our solar system (exoplanet) as well. It is estimated
that there occurs almost 530 times lightning than the
number of tornados formed in one square kilometre
area in America! HAT-P-11b located 124 light
years away, outside our solar system, is the planet
observed, rich in lightning. The phenomenon was
discovered by Gabriella Hodosan and team from
the St. Andrews University at Scotland.
