Aren’t we seeing another rising in the North?
Saddam left for Osama to continue from where he stopped,
Yet even that vanquish hasn’t stopped the rise of terror.
Can we forget the eleventh day of September?
What is yet to be raised?
We remember the first of October,
We hail our heroes, who had risen,
Zik, Awo, Tafawa, Ironsi, Gowon, Murtala, OBJ,
But did they stop the Civil war from rising?
The bloodless and bloody coups plotters linger as villains in our minds
Militancy excelled in the South,
for Boko to rise with bombings in the North,
Still there is conflict brewing in the East,
Who knows what would be raised again in the West?
We raised guns to achieve peace,
The same guns we used to destroy peace,
