VANITY QUEST- Olamide Santos
Being vain This is what it means to be a human being Seeking acceptance and accolades I don’ t do it for money but fame My actions are selfless But I put myself first Then I lose myself
We celebrate high achievers Students with high grades Staff with high output Happiness has been relegated Success is all that counts And too often we count blessings Comparing distance and bearings
Being the vain beings we have been Tomorrow like yesterday, will remember today Through the eyes of movers and shakers Moments without events fade by So we remember the dead When we have the living, just barely alive Till the moment life slips away
We plan for the future Sowing seeds and waiting for rain Even the weather forecast could be inaccurate wind tossed in hurricane I become vain That loose feeling of losing myself Telling myself, it was never a vanity quest
