SIDDON LOOK - Erhio Obodo
Why complain to men who don’t understand pain
Men who rather than feed you with grains that sustain
Would prefer to take them away and sell rain
They provide trains yet fly in planes
Own landscapes bigger than Spain or even Ukraine
Strolling around like a hurricane
They live off tears and bloodstain
Selling cocaine to featherbrains
These men should be in chains
Restrained and thoroughly caned
Instead they supply sugarcane
Which we chew on and complain
What do we hope to gain from silent disdain?
Apart from a migraine
They continue to reign
In their veins flow champagne
They are insane
Inhumane
Vain
But who can explain our constraint?
We are also to blame
We who ought to set the rules
Come from different schools
Sing different tunes
We carry around the wrong tools
A colony of baboons
laughing at a pack of fools
Who is who?
Even the blind can see where the path leads
No one wishes to harvest these seeds
yet we plant them with our deeds
Who will wear the hat?
