The hope for Colt is to spread the ball more and create confusion with two running backs.
Defense
WCS has integrated its defense into 6-on-6 intramurals and has seen early success.
“ Defense is going to be our utmost importance this year,” said Colt.“ You’ re never going to hold somebody to zero in 6-man, but if you can create two to three turnovers, you probably will win that game.”
What embodies the defensive side of the ball for Colt is being multifaceted. In order to create turnovers, the Lions never want to stay in one look.
The motivation since summer workouts started has brought new life to WCS, as the Lions believe they can not only capture winnable games in TAPPS Div. II, but Finney is confident they can make a playoff push.
Innocence characterizes the Lions, who are in the early stages of a new beginning. Already sensing togetherness and unselfishness across the board, WCS football is having fun for the first time in a long time.
