Although Hill and the Pines totaled over 500 yards of offense in the game, he focused on what went wrong against Sulphur Springs.
As a player who maintains emotional equilibrium all the time, Hill feels comfortable with the weapons around him this year. Moreover, he plans on incorporating more of his running ability into the mix.
Instead of Hill benefiting from the O-line,
“ We lost probably the best group of offensive linemen I’ ve ever been a part of,” admitted Hulett.
The roles are reversed this year, as the then-young skill players bring the experience to a unit up front that features one returning lineman in Aaron Street.
Coming off a season with 2,347 passing yards on 141 completions and 31 touchdowns, shocking his head coach, Hill is expected to have a much better grasp of the offense and take another step in his second year.
The All-Weatherford Democrat Newcomer of the Year gained 12 lbs. over the offseason, in an attempt to avoid the wear and tear he suffered late last season.
“ We feel confident in our ability to develop kids.”
