You have to take it one day at a time , and we strap them up and go to work every single day and that is what we do . might not hit all of their goals . Still , Hulett is a big believer in shooting higher and falling a little short than shooting low .
“ We have to work now to get to where we want to be in the end ,” he said . “ So with our kids on the inside of our program , it is the same as it always is for the most part . That comes with the expectations we have set previously and also being fortunate enough to achieve a good amount of success .
“ I would say that there seems to be more and more excitement or support or whatever word you enter here every year as the number of kids at the younger levels have caught on and been around our program .”
The good thing for Coach Hulett and his staff is that they have known these players for years and know where their strengths lie , having coached many of them since the seventh grade .
“ With the summer workouts , we see them all the time . You have to start somewhere , you might find who the best kids are and the best role and you do the best you can to get kids into an opportunity to be successful and that is what we will just keep working on ,” he said . “ You have to take it one day at a time , and we strap them up and go to work every single day and that is what we do .”
This season , depth will be a major factor for Hulett and the Porcupines , particularly since many of them will more than likely be playing on both sides of the ball .
“ We are going to figure out defensive skills first and how we can rotate and get kids in , and who is going to be best fit on defense and then do the same on offense ,” he said . “ Hopefully get enough kids to play , that way we are two deep at each position where we can roll kids on both sides of the ball , that way a kid can play both and not get beat down .” ★
