The Longhorns return starting QB Whit Fuller to lead the offense after a year where injuries played a part .

“ Our QB who is returning will be a junior , his name is Whit Fuller ,” Reed said . “ We have a young group of kids that are coming through so there will be a lot of competing for position and that ’ s one of the things that pushes us every year and it ’ s made us good . Whit had to compete for the quarterback position last year , he had to overcome some injuries . That ’ s the nice thing that we like when the school year starts , everybody is competing for their positions and we are able to do that . We feel that pushes our kids to show up in the summer , pushes our kids to make sure they are at practice , pushes our kids to make sure that they are acting right , and it always keeps them on their toes knowing that they have to keep competing for positioning .”
