LONGHORNS look to make an imprint
The Gordon High Longhorns and Coach Mike Reed come into this season needing to replace five seniors as they move up in divisions and look to improve on their 10-win season that ended with a loss to Strawn in the quarterfinals .
Reed doesn ’ t consider this year a reset with the loss of his five seniors or with the move up in divisions , but rather a rebirth of the team with the incoming freshmen class as well as the incoming senior class is ready to take over the leadership roles from the graduating class and welcome in the new era for Gordon Longhorn football .
“ We are going up a division and have some new faces and some new teams that happen to be in our path ,” Reed said . “ It is kind of a reset button , but not a reset button when it comes to expectations or a reset button for what our goals are .”
The Longhorns look for their experienced guys to help get the team back to the playoffs while trying to see who can help propel them further .
