Guided beach exploration On the third Saturday of the month from 8:30-10 a.m., join the GTM Research Reserve interpretive guide for a beach walk at the Guana south beach location. Learn about the animals that call the beach their home as well as seashells and other interesting facts. This is a “Beaches 101” experience that the entire family will enjoy. All necessary gear including waders and boots will be provided. The program is free with paid entrance and will take place at the Guana Dam Recreational Area. Please meet the guides at Guana Dam. More Than You Ever Wanted to Know About Bees On Wednesday, June 17 from 3-4 p.m., Joan Kramer, will present a lecture on pollinators. Kramer worked for two years with GTM Research Reserve staff researching native bees. She is also a honey beekeeper and a Florida Master Naturalist. This lecture is part of the GTM Research Reserve’s “More Than You Ever Wanted to Know About…” series of lectures that take place on the third Wednesday of the months of February, April, June and August.
