935 LEADERSHIP FIRE CHIEF ENGINEER OMAR AGUILAR MARK HARTWIG FIRE CHIEF PRESIDENT Brothers and Sisters, Omar Aguilar is the newly elected president of Local 935. First hired as a paid-call firefighter by Crest Forest Fire Protection District in 2003, he was hired there full time in 2006. After serving the Crest Forest local as a negotiations team member and vice president, in 2011 he was elected president, serving in that post during the district’s transition to County Fire. A mountain-area native, he now resides in Anaheim with wife Jessica and their 9-month-old son, Declan. I hope you all had a happy and safe 2015 holiday season! As we quickly advance through January, I would like to take a moment to remember our fallen brothers and sisters, including those who lost their lives in the December 2 terrorist attacks. You are never forgotten, and we will remain “San Bernardino Strong!” As we look to the future, I want to recognize and welcome the changes in leadership within Local 935. Congratulations to Steven Story as he enters office as union treasurer, and to Jared Newcomer, who was elected SBCERA alternative safety chair trustee. Also, please join me in acknowledging our re-elected and newly elected divisional representatives, including Engineer Chris Williams and Captain Tony Siciliano in the valley, Captain Craig Williams in the mountains, Engineer Jeff Allen and Firefighter/Paramedic Nick Landry in the north desert and Captain Darrell Feuerhahn in the south desert. My sincere appreciation goes out to Big Bear City, Big Bear Lake, Colton and Loma Linda Fire Departments for being active in our election and voting process. I look forward to working together with all of you. Furthermore, I would like to thank Captain Jim Grigoli for his commitment and countless hours of service towards bettering our local.
