Our members will always deliver professional service, but we are stretched thin. Community outreach and education continue to be paramount to raise the awareness for the need of increased staffing levels and additional resources. • Station 14 continues to work through renovations, and with winter fast approaching we hope to have the project back on its feet and completed before the busy ski season. • The Station 302 land acquisition continues to move forward; replacement of this station cannot come soon enough. The current structure is overcrowded and long overdue for replacement, as it was clearly not designed to house seven personnel daily. Helicopter 325 landing at Pioneer Park in the community of Lucerne Valley. • Local 935 recently sponsored the Hesperia Days Parade, with San Bernardino County Fire strongly represented. County Fire/Reach Helicopter 325 provided two airships for a flyover, illustrating the resource stationed here in the high desert. We look forward to next year’s parade and the positive interaction within our community. • Megan’s Wings provides financial assistance to families with a child undergoing cancer treatments at a Southern California Hospital or Cancer Center. Local 935 once again is proud to sponsor this noble cause and we look forward to continued partnership. • Local 935 once again supported the Don Ferrarese charitable foundation golf tournament. We are proud to give back to our community and support this foundation and the scholarships that will help shape the future for many young people. Captain Sam Bashaw after 36 years in the fire service recently went his first strike team to Northern California. Thank you Hesperia Elks Lodge for your support.
