HOT TOPICS FROM SAN BERNARDINO AND THE EAST VALLEY Our fire explorer program is a point of pride for our members. It gives us a chance to work with young people and to mold the next generation of firefighters. • Local 935 members from Division 2 co-hosted an “end of summer” barbecue with San Bernardino city council member Juan Figueroa, one of our supporters in local government. • Division VP Nate Lopez was proud of the turnout from membership across the divisions during the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors meeting during which the FP-5 assessment options were discussed. • Fire Station 224 in San Bernardino took delivery of its new engine! ME224 is a KME outfitted to County Fire standards and setup. Thanks to our mechanics, the apparatus committee and other groups who come together to make these apparatus worthy of our pride. Engineer Mike Johnson shows some pride in Medic Engine 226 at the station known as Fort Del Rosa in San Bernardino. • Div 2 co-hosted a “end of summer” barbeque with councilman Juan Figueroa. • Members from all divisions came together at the recent board of supervisors meeting in support of the FP-5 tax. Our members are often happy to support the street vendors and food trucks popular in the community of Muscoy.
