935 LEADERSHIP CPF LEADERSHIP CAPTAIN VICE PRESIDENT JIM GRIGOLI TIM STRACK PRESIDENT CALIFORNIA PROFESSIONAL FIREFIGHTERS (CPF) Brothers and Sisters, Jim Grigoli was hired full time as a firefighter/paramedic with SBCoFD in 1998. He was promoted to engineer in 2001, and recently promoted to the rank of captain in 2015. He is currently serving his first term as president of Local 935. Jim is currently assigned to Station 322 in the City of Adelanto and oversees the day to day operations of the union. As we approach the end of 2015, all of us from your Local 935 would like to wish you and your families a happy holidays. I understand the demands that are placed on each and every one of you daily and the stress that it places on you and your families. Local 935 is proud to represent such a dedicated group of individuals who have chosen this great profession. We will continue to work for the best interest of all 935 members. As always I want to reach out and thank the 935 representatives for the Colton, Loma Linda, Big Bear City and Big Bear Lake Fire Departments, and for all the hard work they do on a daily basis. I recently had an opportunity to sit in on a Colton firefighters meeting; we discussed some of their issues and I gave them an update on Local 935 and the many issues we face daily. I truly appreciate all the questions and the very warm welcome that I received. Local 935 would like to thank all of our members who took the time to attend the ratification meetings. I appreciate your willingness to listen to the presentation and ask the important questions. While I understand some of the concerns our members had I do believe that this contract is the best for our members and will benefit the group as a whole. The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors approved the contract on October 6. We will be working to get our new MOUs printed and delivered to you very soon. We have many changes coming in the near future, and new developments happen daily. With the annexations of Hesperia, San Bernardino City and Twentynine Palms on the horizon I will try to keep everyone informed on the latest information. Over the next few months there could be multiple transfers and plenty of promotions. We want to answer all of your questions, so feel free to call your division rep and we will make sure to get you answers. I thank the Local 935 E-Board members for their hard work and dedication to this local. I truly appreciate the amount of time that all of you put in to keeping this organization running and the support you give me. Local 935 attends many conferences, political events and charitable events every month and the time you put in away from your families for the betterment of this great local I hope is appreciated. In closing I wanted to thank all of you again for your hard work and dedication to this great profession. I feel we are headed in the right direction, moving toward correct staffing on our equipment, professional staffing and a competitive salary. There are still many challenges ahead for Local 935 and I feel we are up for all of those challenges and will always work in the best interest of the membership of this great organization. Since 2010, I have had the honor and pleasure to be elected to serve as your vice president of the California Professional Firefighters (CPF) First District. I serve not only all of the members of Local 935, but all of the CPF affiliated Locals in Riverside, San Bernardino, Orange, San Diego and Imperial Counties, comprising approximately 2800 members.
