RYAN BECKERS
DAN NELSON
Ryan began his career with County Fire in 2002
as an LT/FF before being hired to a full-time FF/
PM position in 2005. Promoted to Engineer in 2011,
Beckers has served in Divisions 1, 2/3, and 4 during
his time at County.
Captain Dan Nelson is currently assigned in Division
3. He started his career in the fire service as a
paid-call firefighter for Victorville Fire Department
(VFD) in 1995. In 1998, he was hired as a full-time
firefighter for VFD. In 2008, Dan joined his fellow
VFD firefighters in becoming members of the San
Bernardino County Fire Department.
With County Fire Ryan has served as a public info
officer since 2005, and while stationed in Lake
Arrowhead was the Division 4 PIO coordinator
before his transfer to Division 1 last year. In
addition, Ryan recently completed his state
qualifications and was added to ROS as a PIO-F.
KYLE HAUDUCOEUR
Kyle has been with the San Bernardino County
Fire Department for 12 years. Starting as an LT
Firefighter in Fawnskin and working his way to
the rank of Captain. In addition to his current
assignment at station 322 he serves as a
department PIO and a resource unit leader (t) with
USFS SoCal Team 2. He has a Bachelors Degree
in Biology and minor in Business Administration
from UC Riverside.
BRENTON BAUM
Brenton Baum is a Firefighter/Paramedic currently
assigned to Division 1. He began as a Limited-Term
Firefighter in 2005 and has been a full-time member
of SBCoFD since 2007. Brenton holds several
Associate degrees from Victor Valley College and
has completed many other courses at various
colleges and universities. He is currently completing
a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership at
Brandman University.
Dan holds a Masters of Business Administration
from Cal State San Bernardino, a Bachelor of Arts
in Criminal Justice from Chapman University in
Orange, Calif., and an associate’s degree in fire
technology from Victor Valley College.
JARED NEWCOMER
Jared Newcomer, a Firefighter/Paramedic currently
assigned to Division 4, Station 92, has been a part
of the fire service for over 12 years. Starting as an
explorer at Station 10, Jared soon became a Paid
Call Firefighter, an LT while attending paramedic
school, and finally joined the full time ranks in
2007 as a graduating member of SBCoFD Tower
1. Throughout his career, Jared has completed his
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from
the University of LaVerne and is currently working
on completing his Master’s Degree in Business
Administration with a dual concentration in both
Management and Finance. In his spare time Jared
enjoys hunting, camping, and spending time with
his fiance, Kelly, and their two dogs.
KALINA COX
Kalina has served as Administrative Secretary II
for SBCoFire, Office of Emergency Services for
over 7 years. She holds a degree in Geographic
Information Systems (GIS) and is currently in the
process of earning her Emergency Management
Specialist certification from Cal OES and also
completing her task book to become a GIS
Specialist. In her current position at SBCoFire
OES Kalina edits and formats the OES Quarterly
Report, which can be found posted on the SBCoFire
website. Within SBCoFire OES she has been
given the opportunity to learn great amounts about
emergency management including planning,
preparedness, mitigation, and recovery. In her
spare time Kalina enjoys any activity that gets her
outdoors and road trips. Kalina also loves to spend
time with family, friends, and Belgium Shepard,
Boogieman, who she has taught many tricks,
including “stop, drop and roll”, to pick up trash, and
to count to three.
