displayed a work ethic full
of commitment, passion
and professionalism of
undoubtedly the highest
quality. I learnt a huge
amount surrounding the
importance of building
relationships with fellow
industry professionals and
listening to the voices of
young people.
Since leaving
Clapperboard I have
qualified as a teacher in
Drama. However, during
my training I became
significantly interested
in the psychological
wellbeing of young people
and the challenges they
face. I am now embarking
on training as a counsellor
to support young people in
education.
Clapperboard will always
hold a very special place
in my heart, the work they
create so organically
and collaboratively shall
always be remembered.
I’m honoured to have
experienced working with
such a committed and
passionate Charity.

I began working
as a volunteer at
Clapperboard ,following
my undergraduate degree
studying Drama and
Theatre Studies at Liverpool
Hope University, in 2011.
What became apparent
very early on was the
significant amount of work
Clapperboard did with
young people across the
North West. Their passion
and commitment to inspiring
a young generation was
paramount to their overall
ethos and vision. Tackling
social issues young people
encounter throughout their
adolescent years was a true
driver. Clapperboard gave
young people ownership
of the work they wished
to create ranging from
challenging bullying to
mental health problems.
