Writer- Frank Clarke
Frank Clarke, brother of Margi is from Kirkby a suburb of Liverpool. After his success as a writer on award winning soap Brookside, Frank wrote his first acclaimed feature film Letter to Brezhnev which was produced by Janet Goddard and directed by Chris Bernard. Frank went on to write two more feature films, The Fruit Machine in 1989 that starred Robbie Coltrane and Blonde Fist in 1991, starring his sister Margi and Liverpool actor Gary Mavers.
Director- Chris Bernard
Chris Bernard was born in Liverpool and started his professional career in the theatre. In 1977 he developed an old warehouse in Matthew Street, Liverpool into a theatre venue and was a founder member and Company Manager of the acclaimed Science Fiction Theatre of Liverpool which went on to open the National Theatre- Cottesloe Theatre with their celebrated production of ILLUMINATUS! Written and directed by Ken Campbell & Chris Langham and starring Prunella Gee, Jim Broadbent and David Rappaport.
Chris directed his first play The Immortalist by Heathcote Williams and went on to direct others, most notably The Maids by Jean Genet, Lainey Robertson’ s The Insanity of Mary Girard and Heroes, about the war poet Wilfred Owen.
After working as a script writer for the Channel 4 soap opera Brookside. His debut film was Letter to Brezhnev. His other film and TV credits include All Quiet on the Western Front, And The Beat Goes On, Making Out, Under the Mud, Little Bit of Lippy, Eastenders, Shadow on the Earth.
