Humberside Fire and Rescue Service launch
Hull 2017 UK City of Culture engine
All fired up
for 2017
Hull’s UK City of Culture celebrations
were always going to be colourful,
memorable and just that little bit
different!
With this in mind, the creative team
at Hull 2017 have teamed up with
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service
to create a unique head-turning
fully wrapped fire engine. The brand
new Scania pump will form part of
the round the clock emergency
service cover which will ensure that

the people of Hull and its visitors
have a safe and enjoyable year.
The brand new engine will first be
housed at East Hull before moving
to the new Hull Central Fire Station
on Spring Street – itself no stranger
to the city’s creative scene! It will
be fully operational, but also in
high demand at community and
cultural events across the region
and further afield throughout the
year.
Special guests gathered in the
regenerated Trinity Square to see
the striking new engine arrive in front
of the imposing Holy Trinity Church.
Chief Fire Officer Dene Sanders is
delighted with the new addition to
the Service’s fleet:
