Top 10
most unusual funeral
vehicle choices revealed
A survey, conducted by the UK’s leading
funeral vehicle coach-builder, has
revealed the top ten most unusual funeral
vehicle requests, with a Del Boy style
three wheeler, a Scooby Doo coloured
van and an airport fire engine all making
the list of irregular transport requirements.
The study questioned 214 funeral directors
about trends and unusual occurrences
that had been uncovered during the
course of their work within the funeral
industry. As part of this they were asked
to specify any unusual funeral vehicle
choices that they had encountered
during their time in the business.
The team at Wilcox Limousines then
compiled a list of the top ten from the
answers received, revealing the following
shortlist:
1. An airport fire engine
2. A Scooby Doo coloured van
3. A Del Boy style three wheeled hearse
4. The back of an arctic crane lorry (escorted by a 75 tonne crane)
5. The bucket of a JCB
6. A milk float
7. A Ford Capri (the closest resemblance to a 1970s Dodge Charger)
painted in the Dukes of Hazard Colours
8. A tank
9. A flatbed lorry
10.A steamroller
Other answers revealed by the
survey that weren’t counted
amongst the top ten included
tractors, specific vehicle types,
motorcycle hearses, and even a
wheelbarrow.
