Your Career Prospects
After a year, you will be eligible for promotion to Air Specialist( Class 1), AS( 1) if you pass a series of Professional Workplace Assessment.
Further promotion to the rank of Corporal and beyond is by competitive selection. Opportunities also exist for suitable individuals to apply to Commission into the Operations Officer and be employed as a specialist Commissioned Fire Officer.
Transferable Skills
Your trainee firefighter course and workplace development package including the completion of an Operational Firefighter Apprenticeship will ensure you have the skills required of a professional Firefighter.
If you decide to leave the RAF these skills and accreditation will assist in creating opportunities within the civilian fire sector.
