FIVE MINUTE PRESENTATION
APPLIANCE FUNCTIONAL TEST
It is vital that RAF Firefighters can load and unload equipment quickly and accurately in order to respond to multiple emergencies . Although you will be part of a team , everyone will have their own responsibilities so it is important you can carry out your tasks without assistance .
You will be required to demonstrate the ability to remove and re-stow certain pieces of fire service equipment ( without assistance ) onto an Airfield Fire Fighting Appliance .
FIVE MINUTE PRESENTATION
The ability to communicate effectively is extremely important as a Firefighter . For example , you may find yourself in the position where you need to pass information to your Team Leader while responding to an emergency as they will be co-ordinating the team ’ s response and relying on you to effectively communicate what you can see from your location . You may also find yourself delivering fire awareness courses to personnel based at your station .
You will be required to deliver a five minute presentation to the other candidates on your Specialist Interview , as well as the staff assessing you . However , the subject should be straightforward
– it is a presentation on yourself and why you want to be a Royal Air Force Firefighter .
The presentation is an attempt at public speaking and not assessed .
